When you hit a wall…

Have you hit the wall yet?  Are you at a place that doesn’t seem to be going anywhere?  How do you feel about that?  Is that wall merely a place to stop and have a seat or more something you want to get beyond?

All these questions need to be addressed.  The answers to them will lead you to a good place.  I believe all of life’s “walls” can be looked at through the same lens. How does this relate to the banjo you ask?  Is she talking about her religion again, ugh!

Any wall that arises in your life (banjo or otherwise) cannot be ignored.  Once you take a look at it you can actually relax or move on.  So you’ve been playing for X number of months or years now.  You’ve come to a place where you feel bored, comfortable, lacking, fulfilled (insert whatever you are feeling here).

Ok so once you figure out what you are feeling, then decide if it needs to be changed or not.  This may seem silly, but seriously you may just need to acknowledge that you are fine right where you are right now.  Ok if you decide you are good, then change nothing and just keep going in place.  It’s not necessarily a bad thing at all.  Rather if you don’t acknowledge this you may end up down on yourself and stop playing!

If you decided you need to get past the wall, then act on it.  Getting all physiological on y’all here for a second I know, but once you realize you would like to get beyond the wall you also need to decide to actually do something about it.  That something always takes work of some sort.  Are you too lazy to move on?  Address it and see.  Is something keeping you from moving on?  Again take a look.

Another issue I haven’t even talked about yet is what is your end goal here?  Do you want to become a professional/play for fun/gig with a band/play coffeehouses/ busk/entertain the family/bbq’s with friends/or personal enjoyment?  If you figure this out, then the path will become much more clear.  *Let me say here that if you want to become a professional, then I’m not right for you and you need to move on.  This isn’t a bad thing, it’s just that my goal is to show folks how to break things down to make them easy and play for fun.  That’s not to say you can’t move on from me or that I’ve ruined you or anything either.  But once you decide where you want to end up, then you can get on the right road so to speak.

I’ve seen lots of people in life that just never even realize they have hit a wall or are just too “comfortable” to ever change anything.  Who am I to judge them?  No one.  They may be perfectly happy and I wouldn’t want to mess that up.  But if they really do want more but are not addressing these things for some reason then that would be bad.

So put yourself under the heat lamp folks.  Take a look, see what shows up.  Make some decisions and get on a path.  Just take action.  Your life will never change (banjo or anything) unless you pay attention, take note, then act.

For those who would like to make this spiritual I am always up for that.  God has lead me to exactly where I sit today.  But by leading me to the water, this horse had to bend down and drink!  Free will is God’s 2nd greatest gift.  Jesus is of course the greatest gift of all time.  So if you are floundering/stagnant/in denial whatever with your faith, then you need to start taking a hard look.  Get into the Bible and I mean do it.  If you are claiming to be a Christian but your life shows anything but, then you best get to work.

For anyone who needs it, I welcome you to contact me regarding your faith.  I’m no expert, just a God loving Bible believer who will gladly lift up others and assist them in any way I can.

So if there’s a wall in front of you – Look, Decide, Act.  Get it done!

Revelation 3:15-16 (KJV)

15 I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot.

16 So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.

Blessings –
